WIDE World (Wide-scale Interactive Development for Educators) is an innovative professional development program based at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Digital Opportunity Trust

Since it was founded in 2001, Digital Opportunity Trust has helped bridge the digital divide in communities around the world by connecting people with technology and helping them use their new tools to improve their day-to-day lives. DOT has trained dozens of local residents who act as champions of technologies in such countries as Ethiopia, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon.

Global e-Schools and Communities Initiative

Founded in 2003 by the United Nations' Information and Communication Technologies Task Force, Global e-Schools and Communities Initiative works to raise global standards of education in the developing world by providing communities with equipment - such as radio, video and Internet-connected computers - that link them directly to learning.

National Center on Education and the Economy

Founded in 1989, the National Center on Education and the Economy provides advanced education tools and technology that enable young people to gain the world-class skills and knowledge they need to compete in the increasingly global economy.

One Economy

One Economy is a multi-national nonprofit organization that harnesses the power of technology to enable low-income people to improve their lives and join the economic mainstream. One Economy provides broadband service and a multilingual web portal called The Beehive (www.thebeehive.org external link), which delivers information and services ranging from education and health to employment. To date more than nine million people have used the Beehive and over 200,000 low-income people have broadband at home through the work of One Economy.

Partnership for 21st Century Skills

A coalition of businesses, education leaders, and policymakers, Partnership for 21st Century Skills is an advocacy group focused on infusing 21st century skills into education and ensuring that students emerge from schools fully prepared to be effective citizens, workers and leaders in the 21st century.
